Beware the Bikes of March!
Effective March 19, 2017, Ohio motorists must keep a 3-foot “safe distance” when passing bicyclists. Governor John Kasich signed House Bill 154, which defines the distance, on Dec. 19. AMATS officials recently expressed their support for this legislation, which has been supported by the Ohio Bicycle Federation (OBF), since 2009.
The OBF is a non-profit, statewide advocacy organization representing Ohio bicyclists. To view the OBF’s press release regarding H.B. 154, please click here.
