TO2040 and TIP Public Comment Period Now through May 3rd

AMATS staff is currently working on updates to both the Long Range Transportation Plan, Transportation Outlook 2040, and the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) FY 2018-2021.  Transportation Outlook 2040 is a planning document with a horizon of 20 years.  It makes recommendations for improvements to the transportation system between now and 2040.  The Plan sets regional priorities for federal transportation dollars that are projected to be available between now and 2040.  The Plan is updated every four years and is scheduled to be completed in May of 2017.

The TIP is a four year document that catalogs all federally funded transportation projects in the greater Akron area.  It’s timeline spans from July of 2017 through June of 2021.  Transportation projects with federal funds must be included in the AMATS TIP.  The TIP is updated every two years.

The public is invited to review these draft documents and provide any comments or questions to the AMATS staff.

A public meeting to discuss the Plan and TIP was held March 30, 2017 at 6:30pm at the Akron-Summit County Public Library on S. High Street in downtown Akron.
