Green Bike-N-Brainstorm on Aug. 18

The city of Green is the latest community to partner with AMATS in hosting one of the agency’s popular Bike-N-Brainstorm events on Aug. 18.

Registration for the Green Bike-N-Brainstorm begins at 8:30 a.m. in the city’s Boettler Park.  Feedback from this event will be used to improve biking and pedestrian access in the southern Summit County community.  The Green Bike-N-Brainstorm’s route is a loop between the city’s Boettler and Central parks.

The Green Bike-N-Brainstorm coincides with the city’s popular Art-A-Palooza event, a fine arts show featuring more than 80 local and regional artists.

AMATS developed Bike-N-Brainstorms six years ago as public outreach tools to engage cyclists with the aim of improving the Greater Akron area’s biking infrastructure.  More than 450 cyclists have participated in 12 Bike-N-Brainstorms from 2012 through 2018.  AMATS continues to partner with local communities to encourage cycling as an active transportation option.  The Green Bike-N-Brainstorm marks the third event hosted by the agency this year with tentative plans being made for a fourth in Tallmadge in late September.
