Making the Link-Transportation, Planning and Health
Among the day’s speakers during the Oct. 16 AMATS Annual Meeting was James Hardy, the assistant director of community health for Summit County Public Health. Hardy talked about the importance of place and its direct impacts on public health behaviors. He noted that, while agencies such as Summit County Public Health and AMATS are at the forefront in considering the health impacts of various public policies, significant health and social disparities abound in the Greater Akron area.
