AMATS joins the gas tax debate

Baker

State and federal policymakers are debating whether taxes on gas should be used to pay for infrastructure needs.  AMATS is on record with Resolution 2018-07 as supporting an increase in the federal gas tax.  The agency is also a member of Fix Our Roads Ohio (FOR Ohio), a coalition of transportation stakeholders, which is urging Gov. DeWine and state leaders to consider raising the state gas tax for the first time since July 2005.

AMATS Director Curtis Baker discussed the gas tax issue and what it means to the Greater Akron area with WKYC Channel 3’s Amani Abraham.
