What's New

AMATS has recently launched new social media accounts for active transportation advocacy on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Each of the agency’s new accounts offers unique assets to AMATS as it guides the Greater Akron area’s active transportation planning process.  Information about the new pages is summarized below:

• Facebook – AMATS’ Switching-Gears Facebook page allows the agency to post info and photos about agency-related events and topics in a user-friendly format while providing the public a free, convenient forum for online conversation.
• Twitter – @AkronCycling is Switching-Gears.org new Twitter page, which offers social networking and microblogging services.  This page enables AMATS staff to tweet timely biking information quickly.
• Instagram – AMATS’ new Instagram account for Switching-Gears allows users to view images of active transportation projects and helps promote cycling as an alternative mode of transportation

AMATS staff will utilize these sites for promotion of events as well as public involvement in the planning process.
