The draft AMATS 2020 Transit Plan is now available for review. The 2020 Transit Plan builds on the momentum of recent accomplishments by AMATS and the region’s transit providers, METRO of Summit County and PARTA of Portage County.
The draft 2020 Transit Plan takes a fresh approach to gauge the quality of service provided by the area’s transit operations by utilizing a Headway Performance Analysis. The new plan also finds that there are opportunities for METRO and PARTA to improve their services with regards to frequency, locations and infrastructure.
The new transit plan will be a key component of the agency’s next update of the regional long-range transportation plan, which will examine the current and future needs of the Greater Akron area’s system of transportation networks.
The new transit plan will be presented to the three committees of AMATS for consideration during their September meetings.
