AMATS will host a second public meeting on Dec. 12 regarding the Ohio Department of Transportation’s nearly $60 million widening of Interstate 271.  Scheduled to begin in 2014, the project will widen I-271 to six lanes and extend for more than 2.6 miles through the city of Macedonia.

Because of this project’s significance to the Greater Akron area, AMATS must modify Transportation Outlook 2035 and the Transportation Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2014 through 2017.

The next meeting will be hosted by the AMATS Citizens Involvement Committee on Thursday, December 12 @ 7 p.m. at the Akron-Summit County Public Library – Main Branch located at 60 S. High Street in downtown Akron.
