What's New

You’re invited to a vibrant future for Northeast Ohio

Vibrant NEO 2040Join us for the Vibrant NEO 2040 Alternative Scenario Open Houses – July 29 through August 7 – and help chart a better future for Northeast Ohio.

Hosted by the Northeast Ohio Sustainable Communities Consortium (NEOSCC), the Open Houses are part of the consortium’s year-long Vibrant NEO 2040 process to create a more vibrant, sustainable, and resilient future for the region.

The Open Houses will present “What If” scenarios for Northeast Ohio.  These scenarios will ask such questions as: What if future conditions are better or worse for the region?  What if we adopt different approaches to land use and resource allocation?  How different would the region’s future look under these alternative scenarios versus a do-nothing, business-as-usual approach?

Open Houses within the Greater Akron area are scheduled for the following dates, times and locations:

August 1

4:30 – 7:30 p.m.

The Vibrant NEO 2040 process began with a series of springtime workshops that asked what Northeast Ohio would look like if the region maintains its current approaches to planning.  Since then, the consortium and its team have been busy documenting and analyzing all of the input that was received from residents and public officials during these workshops.  (You can view a workshop summary presentation by clicking here and view workshop map galleries by clicking here.)
